Summary: Many people wonder what they can get done in a hurry. It’s hard to blame them. We’re all really busy people. We’ve got a lot to get done, so finding time for cosmetic surgery isn’t always easy. Still, there are a good number of procedures you can get done on short notice and in short order.
What You Can Get Done During Your Lunch Hour
We’re all pretty busy these days. You’ve got your job, maybe kids, maybe other appointments—and most medical spas and surgery clinics are only open until 5 p.m. or so. It’s no secret, then, that you’ve got a lot to pack into a very short amount of time.
That’s why cosmetic surgery clinics are so great. Many of the procedures offered at your local medical spa or aesthetic center (or whatever they happen to call it) can be performed in less than an hour. And there are even some that can be performed in less than thirty minutes.
This means that if you’re looking for a procedure that you can have accomplished over your lunch break (let’s be honesty—a lot of us are squeezing these in), you’ve got some options.
The Quick and the Effective
There are some procedures that take time. Often, laser or energy-based procedures tend to be more time consuming. That’s because the handpiece (or the device) has to be held over the target area long enough to be effective. It can take a while, and that’s natural (you can still get the results you want in an afternoon or so).
But we want to think about procedures that are both quick and effective. Now, this doesn’t mean procedures that, necessarily, will show immediate results. Some procedures will take a while to show results (that’s how they’re designed to work). And “peak results” will, of course, depend on the procedure.
But let’s take a look at what can be accomplished in somewhere between thirty to forty-five minutes (or during your typical lunch break):
- Botox: These injections, which eliminate unwanted lines and wrinkles, can be accomplished in just a few minutes. Now, Botox only works on certain types of wrinkles (those caused by muscle contractions). It will also take several weeks for your Botox results to reach their “peak.” But most patients love the results!
- Dermal Filler Injections: When wrinkles aren’t caused by muscle contractions, sometimes they’re caused by lack of volume. As your skin loses volume, you tend to get wrinkles. The solution is to replace that volume and that’s what dermal fillers do. There’s a wide range of available products, from Juvederm to Voluma to Radiesse. You’ll have to consult with your cosmetic surgeon to see which is the best for you (and how long they’ll last).
- Kybella Injections: Kybella is one of the hottest new cosmetic surgery procedures in the United States. It’s FDA approved to help eliminate excess fat from around the jawline. Imagine that: you can get rid of your double chin in under half an hour! Okay, it takes a couple of months to see full results, but the procedure itself is completed quite quickly.
Be Sure Not to Rush Into Anything
It’s worth noting that just because you can do something quickly doesn’t necessarily mean that you should do something quickly. Let’s put it this way: don’t rush into anything.
That said, once you’ve decided on what you want to have done—once you’ve settled on the procedure you want performed over your lunch break, there are a number of ways to make sure you’re scheduled quickly:
Online: Most cosmetic surgery clinics and medical spas make it really easy to schedule something online. In fact, this is most patient’s preferred way to schedule.
Most procedures will generally start with some kind of consultation, especially if you’re a new patient. In some cases, that consultation could go very quickly (followed by the quick procedure itself), but it’s not something you should definitely count on.
In other words, plan for a longer consultation period. That’s a good thing, though, because you can get all of your questions answered and start to move in the right direction.
Looking Better After Your Lunch Break
If you really want to know all the procedures you can get performed during your lunch break, the best place to go for answers is your local cosmetic surgeon. I know we say this all the time, but it’s really true. Every cosmetic surgeon does things in a different way.
And since they do things in slightly different ways, the timeframes could be slightly different. Maybe Botox will take 45 minutes instead of 15. Plan ahead and talk to you surgeon to make sure you can get the best results during your lunch break procedure.
